I am using in my laptop:
Microsoft Office Word 2003
Workbench 6.5.5. 438 (Build 439)
Multiterm: 6.2.0.287 (Build 287)
Windows XP Media Center 2005

Everything works well except when I want to exit Multiterm. Then I get a warning sound and a window opens with the following message:

SmartHeap Library
MEM-BAD-POINTER

and two options: OK and CANCEL.
If I click OK, the window closes.
If I click CANCEL, another window opens:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\TRADOS\MTiX\MultiTerm.exe
Abnormal program termination

This happens in my laptop but not in the desktop. The only program that is different in the desktop is Windows: I have windows XP.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

TIA

Marocas

Thank you, Ralf Jul 17, 2005

I read the article and I must confess that I had to ask another Venezuelan prozian to translate the technical aspects of it into plain language, and the problem is solved.

For future reference:

In control panel --> Regional and Language Options --> Languages tab ---> uncheck Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai).

Can you please indicate which software versions you're using?

How to solve it?

Did you have a look at the Trados KB article I referred to (I provided a link to it)?

Best regards,
Ralf

Please read the article Ralf provided (the link is in his first post).

There you will find several options to solve the problem. In my case, I uninstalled files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai). I don't know if that will work for you since you translate into Chinese, but you can try the other options.

Good luck!
