Hello!

I am translating Powerpoint files with Trados7 and TagEditor7. Unfortunately, the preview mode (I want to see my translated slides in Powerpoint) does not work.
When I click the preview button, all I can see is an empty powerpoint template.

A solution was offered in a forum. It says: In order to make the preview of Powerpoint available in TagEditor, follow these steps:

1. From the Tools menu in Tag Editor choose Plug-ins.
2. Deactivate the Tradostag Viewer Plug-in.
3. Open a powerpoint file and click the preview pane.

I followed these steps but the preview still does not work.
Did I miss something?
Any idea or help much apreciated!
Thank you very much in advance!

Aniello

Fall:

-Tradostag Viewer Plug-in deaktivieren.
-Powerpoint-Datei öffnen und Preview-Pane klicken.

Das habe ich getan. Viewer Plug-in ist deaktiviert.

Bekomme aber nur eine zweigeteilte Masterfolienansicht (leer). Den Rechner habe ich sicherheitshalber nach der
Einstellungsänderung gebootet.
Fehlt noch ein Handgriff?

Mein System: Windows XP, Trados7, Office2003

Vielen Dank für jeden Tipp!
Aniello

Hi Aniello,

I had the same problem but with ttx.files and this workaround work for me, I hope it will work for Powerpoint too.
Save the target files as html (if possible) and then go to your webbrowser IE for example, file and open file - and there find your html-file and view it there. It just takes a few more steps to set up but once you got the page up it is quite easy because when you change something in your ppt-fil, you then just save the target file again, go to your webbrowser, click on the back arrow and then on the forward arrow, and the browser has then picked up your new changed file.
I hope this makes sense. But hopefully someone will come up with a solution for the real problem.

Good luck,

Anette

"Save as target" Nov 25, 2005

Hello Aniello,

I don't really know this problem. But you can from time to time just execute "Save as target" and you should get the PPT presentation. Unless like the clean-up in Word your TTX file stays untouched.

Kind regards

Noe
