I am very new at Trados (6.5) and basically the situation is that I have got to the end of a 100 page translation and I have to change some of the terms as the official tech glossary for the project just reached me.
From what I have understood if I simply do search and replace in WORD it will not get saved to the TM which will remain with a wrong translation.
Is there a quick way of updating the TM
Also is it possible to cancel any parts of the TM ?
Thanks in advance for

export it into txt file Nov 27, 2005

To make changes to a TM, you can export it into a txt file, and edit the exported file with Word. Don't use Notepad if the TM is large. Notepad works slowly. After finishing, import the amended txt file back into the TM. Remember to choose Overwrite option when importing.

As above Nov 27, 2005

Plus, when doing the "cleanup", make sure to choose the "update the TM" option.

Good luck!

I'm not sure if that's what you mean, but you can delete segments by right-clicking on the language flag in the following Workbench windows:
  • Main window, when a segment is open

  • Maintenance (File - Maintenance)

  • Concordance

Many thanks Nov 27, 2005

Thank you all for your answers.
I didn't realise that I could correct everything and then clean-up (also because they ask me not to clean up).
Anyhow I did that with TM flagged and it looks to be OK !

Yes I was wondering how to cancel full sections as I am working on a TM that was initially used by someone else and there are some sections which are completely wrong.

I will try cancelling them that way thanks!

Have a nice evening

Jen

Correct, then cleanup, click "update the TM" , it's done.
