I am a beginner in using Multiterm. The client gave me a Glossary in .mdb format.
Can I use it like this or must I convert it in .mtw multiterm base? How can I do this conversion?
I use TRADOS 6.5. and MultiTerm 5
Much obliged for any answer,
Lumi

Have you checked your version with your customer?
Dec 5, 2005
Hi Lumi, Is your customer aware of the fact you're using MT 5.x? MultiTerm iX (version 6.2 or higher) uses Access databases (.mdb), but even then a termbase should be provided as an export.
Best regards, Ralf

Thank you Ralf! I will contact my client. I don't have MultiTerm iX. What do you mean with "a termbase provided as an export?"

Termbase data can be exported
Dec 5, 2005
Hi again, All MultiTerm versions have the capability of exporting terminology data, to facilitate import into other applications.
For example, assuming your customer uses MT 6.2.x or MT 7.x, they can export the data in a format that is compatible with MT 5.x.
Best regards, Ralf
