Hi all!

I hope somebody can help me in my case before the answer from the SDL support will reach me:)
I bought SDL Trados 2006, installed Trados, SDLX and after installing Multuterm receive in TW a message "TM is too big for demo mode. Plese enter valid license No". Locating the path to the license file through License Manager didn't help. So I decide to uninstall and install again all components.
Now, when trying to register SDL Trados after its installation first in the License Manager whem trying to test the license file I receive a message "The operation failed" and the registration is unsuccessful - in the opened registration windoe I see
Registering SDL Trados components...
Registering filter framework...
Registering SDL Trados applications...
and the windows closed itself.

Any suggestion will be appreciated!

Natasha

Hi Chantal!

I didn't remember now exact steps, but I called Trados support line +44 1628 416 398 and they give me all the instructions.
Another way is to use their support page.

Hope this will help you.

BR
Natasha

This is the usual symptom for "HAVE NOT FOUND" license... Dec 6, 2006

so you have to go to Help/About/License manager in TWB and the provide the subdirectory and the name of the lic file (*) you have received during the proces of purchasing/delivery.

it should end up in something like this:

Licensed to XYZ, serial no.: 12345-67890. Thank you for using TRADOS software.

Available licenses:
Translator's Workbench/SDLX, Version 7.x Freelance
Japanese UI for Translator's Workbench, Version 7.x
TagEditor, Version 7.x
Japanese UI for TagEditor, Version 7.x
T-Window for PowerPoint, Version 7.x
T-Window for Excel, Version 7.x
T-Window for Resources, Version 7.x
T-Window for Executables, Version 7.x
WinAlign, Version 7.x Freelance
Japanese UI for WinAlign, Version 7.x
S-Tagger for FrameMaker, Version 7.x
S-Tagger for Interleaf, Version 7.x

*: TRADOS does not care if you rename it to "my little license for big bucks.alt" and put it on your memory stick at m:. You just then have to say in the license manager: M:/my little license for big bucks.alt
