Source language repeated in target segment

Back again, Ralf, following your help on importing of yesterday, sorry!

When I use the TM, when I open a segment, the Italian is repeated in the target segment as in the source segment.

Concordance works fine, though.

Any ideas?

Hi Mary Rose,

Sometimes that's not a problem, particularly when you have to copy figures or proper names. However, if it bugs you, I reckon you can get rid of it this way:

-In Trados WorkBench, go to Options
-Click "Translation memory options"
-Under the "General" tab, you'll see a box named "Copy source on no match". (Since you're getting the original segments, this should be selected.)
-Deselect it.
-Click OK

And that should do.... See more

Thanks Jéronimo, it was a good thought, but in fact "Copy source on no match" hadn't been selected. I tried selecting and deselecting, but that didn't work either.

Thanks for your help anyway.

And yes, it really does bug me!

Hi Mary Rose,

I'm sorry that you still have that problem.

I can't think of another possible solution, but probably somebody in the Trados Yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TW_users/) has a good idea. You need to sign in, but it's free and quick.
