Trados won't open next segment (bulleted list)

I'm working on an OCR'd PDF (a fairly clean file) in Trados, and all has been fine until I ran into a bulleted list problem. When I press 'set/close next/open/get' after translating the segment before a bulleted list, Trados WB hangs - any attempt to do anything results in a message from WB 'previous request not finished'. The first time it happened, I just overtyped the list, as it was a short one, but I am now encountering longer lists, and my deadline is approaching.

I'm using SDL Trados 7.1.0.719, build 719, with Word 2002. Help, anyone?

it seems I was too hasty - looks like they were not properly formatted as bullets, so removing the symbols that looked like bullets, highlighting the list and making it into a proper bulleted list seems to have worked.
