How to protect Trados Freelance TM against Export...

Is there any way to protect Workbench TM againt Export.

You can only export the memory in exclusive mode.

Stop/lock the Export function in Workbench that you can do by clicking File>>Export.

I understand that there is a function to lock the TM by password but this is not what I mean. I mean stopping/locking only the Export function.

You cannot disable the export function unless you manipulate the Trados executables. And even if you succeeded in doing so, it would be pointless, because the translator could create a TM by cleaning up the translated files into a new TM.

If you have a big master TM and are worried that another translator might copy it, simply run an analysis on the files to be translated and create a project translation memory. This TM will contain only the matches necessary for this particular job.

For more information on creating a project translation memory refer to the Trados on-line help.
