Hi,

I wondered if there's a way to open Indesign .inx files tihe Trados Freelance 6.5 version of TagEditor ?

There isn't - at least not with Trados alone.

There's a third-party tool by Mr Pohlmann that will allow you to convert InDesign files to RTF (and subsequently translate those using Trados) - but that's not for free. See

Yes, you can Feb 11, 2007

You need ID CS, open the INX file and save it as INDD CS format, then just use Story Collector to export it to ICS and then open it with TagEditor 6.5.

Perhaps this is obvious, but your client might not be happy if you deliver a file in an older version than initially provided.

Basically, if you back-convert a CS2 file into CS, you will lose some advanced functions that may or may not be part of the layout.

you can make the Update to SDL Trados 2006 and open the inx file in the new TagEditor.
