Error in opening footers segments

I asked this question on Trados support, but I don't know when I will receive an answer and I am working on a project.

Product Level 1: TRADOS
Product Level 2: Freelance
Category Level 1: Report a problem
Category Level 2: Segmentation issue
Status: Unresolved
Version number: 2007
Build Number: 822
Licence Type: Softkey
File type: .doc
OS Language: English
MS Office version: Office 2007

I can't open footers for translation.
I can go to footers section, but when I hit Alt+Home, it does not open the first segment in the footer.
Workbench gives a message: „No text to translate at cursor position”.

If anyone had encountered the same problem, please advise.
I could of course resolve it by opening the document with Word 2003 and Trados 2006 (Workbench), but I still want to know if I am doing something wrong or it's a bug.
Thanks

Have you tried... Jun 4, 2007

...opening your project in TagEditor? I completed a project which had footnotes yesterday, and it went without a hitch.

I know that is a solution Jun 4, 2007

But I did not try it this time, because I started working with Word and Workbench.
I tried to do what you suggest on other occasions - retranslating with Tageditor - after having translated the hole document with Workbench and it does not help, because the segmenting is different and the Memory created with Workbench isn't of much help.

But it might work if I open only footers for translating them in TE.

Thanks Angeliki.
N.B. Knowing the answer to my question would still be useful

Is your cursor in the footer itself or in the segment containing the footer? Jun 4, 2007

Hi Monica,

Have you tried opening the segment in the running text where the footer is (i.e. where the number is shown)? Once you try to close this segment, Trados should automatically open the footer segment next. Once you have translated the footer and you close the segment, you should automatically go to the segment where the footer is. If you now set/close open next/get the following segment should open.

That is what I am doing, Marijke Jun 4, 2007

I have this document with footers.
I go to footers section, double click to open it and then press Alt+Home in order to open the footer segment. At this point, nothing happens, but that error message I wrote about or WB is opening another segment, within the corpus of the text (not in the footer).

End of page character? Jun 5, 2007

I dont know if this applies to footers, but Trados gave me problems with segments at the ends of a page (with the same message, if I remember correctly), until I added a hard break at the end of the sentence.
