Powerpoint page numbers display as # after translation with TagEditor

I've noticed that page numbers show up as # in PowerPoint after translating with TagEditor. How do I fix this? The client said they went to the master template and simply clicked on the # symbol and everything went back to normal, but that doesn't work for me.
