Hi. I was anxious to use trados after I activated my license last night, and the following message appeared when I tried to close a string and go to the next one:

my translated sentence

A new menu appeared, containing various mathematical equations, but I can't figure how to turn off this setting, which, by the way, I had never seen until I ACTIVATED my license (no such message appeared in demo mode). Any suggestions?

corrected question Nov 2, 2007

Hi. I'm using Trados 2007 with Word 2007.
As I said, I activated my license last night and was trying to see how it worked (I am an experienced trados user). I typed a sentence in Dutch then opened the string to translate it into Dutch. When I went to close the string, the following text appeared after my translation, in the same string, which I could not close:

.(English: enter your equation here).
There is now also a new menu in word which I'd never seen before, about creating mathematical equations

I'm pretty sure it's a setting, but I can't figure out how to turn it off.

What you are most probably seeing is the maths editor Nov 2, 2007

Would you please check, if it really wasn't in the source segment.
Usually Trados does not insert anyting from "the air"

Maths editor Nov 2, 2007

Hi again. It was a new document I just created to try my new Trados. Hmmm, maths editor. I've never seen it before. Is it new in Word 2007? (By the way, I have the Dutch version of Word).

Strange, if you get such things in a new clean document Nov 2, 2007

However, the maths editor is as old as Word for Windows, so you should have seen it before.
But TBH I don't know why it does appar in your case.

Jerzy

My encoding went crazy on closing some segments, but I found the problem with Jerzy & Artem. Please check if this gives you any hint: http://www.proz.com/topic/88094?pg=e
