TagEditor jumps to a different segment from the one I want to edit

Hello,

I wonder if anyone could help me. I am trying to work on a TTX file (converted from a PDF) using TagEditor. However, frequently when I try to "Open/Get" a segment, the program opens another segment down the file, seemingly at random. And I just don't seem to be able to access some of the segments (fuzzy matches) at all.

This is probably something really simple & silly, but I'd really appreciate any advise.

Kind regards,

Pauliina

Seems to be a protection setting Nov 8, 2007

Hello Pavel,

Many thanks for your reply -- the only one!

In the meantime, I contacted a colleague of mine (thanks Elina -- "elinaka" on Proz) who found the problem:

in Tools/Options/Protection, the boxes for "Protect document" and "Protect Perfect Match Units" had to be unselected. But even then, for some reason the "Protect Perfect Match Units" box seemed to select itself again! Probably something to do with they way the file was converted all right. It was done before I got the file, so who knows what went on there.

Anyway, a sort of a workaround was found in the end.

Kind regards,

Pauliina

hello pauliina,

not at all--I'm glad you've got some sort of a workaround.

I thought perhaps the pdf was ocr'd to an rtf or another format via the abbyy finereader, which then reordered the pieces of text and the ttx/tageditor got confused or something like that.

good luck anyway,
pavel
