I am struggling to translate some Framemaker files into European languages.

When converting the MIF files to STF I get this warning.

"Conversion Warning 250. Marker tag with more than 255 characters found.
This may cause problems when translated. See TRADOS S-Tagger documentation."

And once the translation is done when I verify the file in TagEditor, I get an Error 304
"The text in the index marker is 10 characters too long

And if I try to convert the STF back to MIF using S-Tagger.
"Conversion Error 1140. Errors in Tags. Run the Verify S-Tags task on this file."

I checked the documentation but it isn't offering any solution.

What should I do?

Not quite sure what went wrong(though I doubt it has something to do with the character settings, including fonts, do you have the necessary European languages font?), but you can refer these topics on the forum:

you should go to the markers in FrameMaker which are to long and reduce the number of characters. Maybe you can divide these markers.
