Janina Dörnath (X) Germany Local time: 06:08 English to German + ...

Hello everybody!
I am a beginner with Trados. I got a doc-file to translate (no problem) and a txt-file with an rtf-heading as a reference. What can I do to clean it up or to use as a TM?
Any ideas?
I'm no specialist with computers, so if there's information missing, don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks in advance!

what do you mean by rtf-heading?
Dec 7, 2007
I assume you mean an RTF- extension (file name is xxxxx.rtf).
You should be able to open it with Tag Editor (part of your Trados installation) en clean it up the ordinary way using Clean-Up in Workbench. Choose: Update TM and voilá!
Hope this helps, good luck!

File - Import
Dec 7, 2007
Hi Janina, Looks like a TM export: create an empty TM and import the file.
@Margreet: Trados export files have an RTF preamble.
Best, Ralf
