Could someone explain how the new RSS works?

I've noticed that the old "general" RSS does not work. By trial and error I have found out that

http://www.proz.com/rss.php?channel=forums

gives all new posts, while I would like to have a RSS with only new topics... See more

Topic subscription suggestion added to the queue Apr 7, 2009

Dear Jabberwock,

Thanks for the suggestion; the ability to subscribe only to new topics doesn't exist yet, but it's a good idea. I've placed it in our development queue behind KudoZ RSS feeds.

For additional information about the forum RSS feeds, visit http://www.proz.com/topic/129628 .

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Thank you, Jon!

Incidentally, this is how the "main" RSS worked in the past and I must admit it was very useful - if I was interested in a particular topic, I could follow it, if not, it disappeared from my view.

By the way, I also second the suggestion to drop the name of the forum from the title - most of the readers have other ways to display that information (categories, etc., actually, in RSS Owl I see it three times per single entry...) so it is rather redundant...

One more thing... Apr 7, 2009

One short note: in the "old" system the main RSS contained all forums, except the non-English language forums. I think this is the best idea, as I cannot imagine one would like to have discussions in all languages in one feed. It is easy enough to add another channel to the reader with the specific languages of interest...
