the headings of the forum post columns on the right hand side, and the detail on this post? And the ones that tell me that "as a member, you have access to this feature" or some such? I would not mind them if I could use my mouse to move them out of the way of what I really want to read.

I sent them a ticket ages ago, but to date Yana&Co. have been unable to do anything about it.
In my case they appear and disappear... could not detect a pattern there.

As a member you should only see a limited amount of ads and I bever had any popups...

As a member you should only see a limited amount of ads and I bever had any popups...

I don't want to see any ads. The popups disappeared for a while after I first reported them, but now they've come back.

At least if you see more than translation related advertisements in meantime I would suggest installation of a pop-up blocker or alternative adblocker - they can work miracles

My usual popup blockers don't stop these things, unfortunately.

I never had any pop-ups on ths site... even when I was not a member... so maybe it's because I use Firefox and a great pop-up blocker, Adblock... try and see, maybe it's your solution!

I get a square pop-up that sits over the top of the far right column on the forums page and blocks out the name of the last poster to the latest thread, which is really annoying, as you can't move it or anything. It says:
"Have you read about any upcoming event for translators?
Share it with the translation community at ProZ.com translation news".

Yes Rachel - that's the one I mean. It should at least have an "X" box that lets you dismiss it. Better still, it shouldn't appear at all.

Tom, it's a display bug, not a pop-up, which is why it doesn't have an "X" box. This is what it looks like:
I submitted a support request in September and was told that developers were working to fix it.
As you said, it did go away, but it has come back again. It must be hard for the developers to reproduce, because sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn't...

not even in the screenshot.
I use Adblock Plus. But anyway, I agree, being a member, we shouldn't see any ads at all if we don't want to.
