While sections of ProZ.com are currently being changed over to the Unicode character set one element is sticking out in this process, and that is names.
Names containing accented or non-roman characters are displayed with the Unicode "missing character" symbol in place of the problematic characters (this symbol sometimes appears as a question mark or a box with asian characters inside). To remedy this I have enabled the conversion of First, Middle and Family names. Login names are not currently convertable due to complications we are currently addressing.
Converting your name to unicode will not cancel your identity verification if you have it, nor will it cause your name to appear incorrectly in areas of the site not yet converted to unicode. A conversion link will appear directly under your name in your profile if it contains any special characters and you are not using your login name as your visible name to other members.
