Apple Mac and Trados
Thread poster: Francis Spruit
Does anyone know if Trados works on an Apple Mac running Virtual PC from Connectix ?

You can\'t use Trados because you have to attach a dongle to a PC\'s something-or-another port. And AFAIK a Mac doesn\'t have that port.
However, you could try SDLX (http://www.sdlintl.com/) on your Virtual PC as it doesn\'t require a dongle. I am using a native Mac CAT tool called Alair II (http://www.hiruneko.com/). It\'s functions are limited, but it is very Mac-like and intuitive to use, and it doesn\'t slow down your computer either.
You could also try Wordfast (http://champollion.net/), which works as a MS Word template, so if you have Word, you can use it. There is a very helpful mailing list for this software too, and you can join this ML from Yahoo Groups if you\'re interested.
Anyway, HIH, and let\'s hope that there will be a good CAT tool available for the Mac people in the near future too.

| Terminal Services || Jan 26, 2002 |
Youcan use the Terminal Services from Microsoft and a MAC client.
Then the Workbench will run on the PC and only keyboard mouse and the display window are redirected between MAC and PC.
Terminal Services are available under Windows NT Terminal Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server (maybe on Professional)
No experience with Windows XP
