Hi friends,

I had an opportunity to attend a religious function yesterday. Since it was a large gathering, the organizers had arranged the CCTV and the program was being shown a big screen by using the projector. In addition to the live images of singers, they were also showing the text on this big screen of holy songs being sung by singers so that it should be convenient for the people to repeat what was being sung. It was perhaps a 5 feet X 3 feet screen. I could read the text despite sitting at a distance of some 40 feets away.

I thought that it might be useful if I could use such screen for translation purpose as it would be a relief for eyes and brain. Before making a heavy investment, I want to seek the advice whether it will be advantageous or not. Have you ever used or still using such a big screen? Would you recommend it or would it be a sheer wastage of money?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Regards,

Chopra

Projectors usually have nowhere near the resolution or brightness that you would want in a monitor. They are excellent for watching films from 6 yards away in a dark room in the evening, not so great for reading text all through the day. I'd just get a big monitor.
