For various reasons I would liek to buy a licence for Trados 8 (before it all got SDL'ed), have 6.5 working fine, but need upgrade - and no, all of you who says I just have to get the newest version - save your keystrokes! This is about buying a valid working licence for Trados version 8 - any sellers out there?

Beware: EULA infringement Apr 26, 2010

Beware: When you purchase a license for an SDL Trados product which is not offered as such anymore, both you and the seller infringe SDL Trados' EULA.

In some cases the SDL EULA may be considered invalid.
E.g. when you purchase Trados in some countries (e.g. in Poland), the fact the EULA is in English invalidates it and the local laws related to the license transfer apply automatically.
But if you purchase Trados online directly at SDL or at Proz, the EULA is valid (the UK/US law applies).
So, if you want to have a war, support your local dealer

Nonetheless, the case is somehow tricky.
If you have a good lawyer, you may win the trial in a Polish court but I don't think it's worth the money/time you should waste for this victory.
Of course, the relations with the local dealer are important too.
The Polish one is simply wonderful, so nobody will sue him

Cheers

Trados 8 AKA 2007 Apr 27, 2010

Sorry about the confusion, yes, you're right all of you, what I want is Trados 8.3 AKA 2007, which (still?) is part of the Suite package - will look into that.
