Is Practicount useful?

I downloaded Practicount from its website.
When I use it count the word files, I found the numbers of words is very different compared with result that Word XP counts itself.
Can anyone explain this?

Word doesn't count footnotes or headers, nor text inside boxes, while PractiCount does.
PC is interesting for translators for this reason. Usually when the total is different my clients accept my total calculated with PC.
