Hi,

Could you please help me find a solution for a problem with Adobe Acrobat 6.0.

Every time I start the software I get two messages:

1. Checking for updates.

Hi,

Could you please help me find a solution for a problem with Adobe Acrobat 6.0.

Every time I start the software I get two messages:

1. Checking for updates.
2. Adobe Acrobat has been updated. Please restart before continue.

The funny and annoying thing is that the same messages appears when the program starts as well as after clicking Help> Update.

Since the automatic update doesn’t seem to work anymore, after so many re-installation of the software, I have manually installed the updates 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 which I have downloaded from the Adobe website.

Adobe doesn’t offer any solution for this problem on his website or am I missing something?

TIA for your suggestions and help!

Regards,
Sherefedin

On the Menu:

EDIT > PREFERENCES > UPDATES

On this window, enable or disable any preference, and click the button "Installed Updates" to see if they're really installed.

Hope this helps.

Hi Tadzio,

Thanks for your help. I heve checked the update options in the preferences section. The options "View notifications" and "Installed updates" are grey / inactive. No matter what I always get the same messages.

Regards,
Sherefedin

You should reinstall the program. I think it is corrupted.

I'm with Tadzio!

The Adobe updaters are a drag, this happens to me ever-so-often...
Also, make sure that you are logged in with admin rights in your Windows system (but maybe that goes without saying).

If the updater fails, my fix is to go to Adobe.com and download all and any patches manually, and run them in one go - preferrably directly after reinstalling.

Best,

/Jan
