International Women’s Forum against Corruption
Venue: Centro Cultural San Martín,Sarmiento 1551, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Through panel presentations, testimonials, workshops, advocacy networking, cultural activities and strategy building to include a gender perspective in public policies against corruption and actively fight for a culture of accountability, the program will focus on the main topic on “How Corruption assails Women’s Human Rights”
Program issues are: Corruption and accessing justice; women’s sexual rights; their economic rights; the right to property, land and habitat; information and communication rights; the right to peace; New technologies at the service of transparency. Other proposals related to corruption and gender may be accepted.
On the second and third day we will define the “Strategies for a culture of Accountability” focusing on Economic and Social Practices and Juridical and Political Practices to conclude with a Program of Strategic Alliances: alternatives for change.

What better venue in the Americas than Buenos Aires for such a gathering of luminaries or for such an urgent matter. Who better to stand up than they?
Some of the \"men\" of Argentina recently involved in matters economic would do well to steer clear of the conference lest they find themselves stuttering, mumbling, back-pedaling and in a whole mess of trouble.

Me parece muy interesante que en un país que junto a Turquía y México encabeza la lista de los países más corruptos, sea sede de ese evento.
A ver si las mujeres pueden alzar fuerte su voz y las escuchan no sólo lejos, sino muy \"cerquita\".
Me gustó lo que puso Francis, y si viene por España alguna vez, que avise, que tanto yo como Miguel estaremos encantados de darle la bienvenida a la Costa del Sol, donde tampoco la corrupción es ajena a nuestra vida diaria. ¿Saben los que están fuera de España, y a lo mejor algunos de los que están dentro, que hace algo así como una semana se armó un revuelo enorme en Andalucía porque un consejero del gobierno autónomo andaluz dijo que prefería algo de corrupción siempre que se hicieran cosas positivas para la comunidad? Y ante el revuelo, se ratificó. Sin comentarios.

Yo trabajé, el año pasado, 6 meses como Asesor ( y, en ocasiones, traductor e intérprete) de la Comisión para investigar los Hechos Ilícitos y el Lavado de Dinero en el Sistema Financiero Argentino, del \"Honorable\" Congreso de la Nación, presidida por la Diputada Elisa \"Lilita\" Carrió. Si alguien se toma el trabajo de bajar el pre-informe de Internet, verá que los Capítulos sobre la Ruta del Dinero, la Banca off-shore, Raúl Moneta y el Banco República, Corporación Metropolitana d... Cuento esto ahora porque las consecuencia s prácticas de la crisis argentina han hecho que el sistema financiero como tal esté destrozado y prácticamente no haya Bancos locales sobrevivientes, con lo cual la seguridad personal de mis hijos y mía ya no se verá amenazada. Es interesante comentar esto, porque todo lo que esa Comisión mostró y demostró sobre la corrupción endémica y sistémica en Argentina se pudo lograr gracias a mis dos entrañables amigas Lilita Carrió y la Diputada Graciela\"Hormiguita\" Ocaña. Espero que se las invite a participar del tal Congreso, y no se esté ALLÍ DISCUTIENDO SOBRE CUESTIONES TEÓRICAS Y DEMÁS, EN UN MOMENTO DONDE EL 60 % DE LA POBLACIÓN ARGENTINA ESTÁ BAJO LA LÍNEA DE POBREZA, Y LA CLASE MEDIA MENDIGA EN LAS CALLES O EMIGRA.
