Title: Short Gastronomic Glossary

Source language(s): eng,fra,sve

Target language(s): eng,fra,sve

Source: BKWine Britt Karlsson

Keywords: Fromages, Cheese, Charcuteries, Delicatessen, Volaille, Poultry, Gibier De Plume, Birds, Gibier, Vilt, Game, Boucherie, Butcher, Abats, Offal, Fishmonger, Vegetables, legumes, Fruits, Baies, Fruit, Berries, Champignons, Mushrooms, Herbes, Herbs, Spices

This glossary contains words and expressions that you may encounter when you go shopping for food. It is based on real life experience which is why some translations are different from what you might find in (some) dictionaries. For example: all dictionaries that I have seen translates the French chantarelle to the Swedish kantarell, which you can easily see is a faulty translation by going to the market and taking a look at the chantarelles. (This also points to one of the uncertainties in the English translation - What is the correct translation of chantarelle?)

Tack, Jan! Sep 19, 2006

Tack för denna intressanta länk, Jan!

Hobbykocken får väl passa på och göra lite smygreklam för en annan gastronomisk lista, dock DE>SV.
