I have written a concept about early language learning, so I have a precise idea how to teach it, what I still need is kind of a "text book" providing abundant material such as songs, nursery rhymes, picture cards, doll etc. (should be available in Germany)

Try "New Parade" Sep 3, 2004

Parade is a great series, with songs, video, games, etc. A good starting point for a theme-based curriculum.

For music, try Jazz Chants by Carolyn Graham.

You and Me Sep 3, 2004

I've used "You and Me" (Oxford Univ. Press), books 1 and 2, with kids aged 6 and 7, with great results. The kids loved these books. There are songs, games, stickers, drawing activities, etc., and each book has 2 cassettes and a workbook. The teacher's book is quite good, too, with additional optional activities included.

There is apparently a Starter book for kids under age 7, but I haven't used it or even seen it.

You can find more info. here:

Hi Astrid, I\'ve never taught kindergarten children, so I can\'t give you anything from personal experience, but you might find these books helpful.

Try with Longman Oct 4, 2004

Hello Astrid,I´ve been a kindergarden teacher for years and I use a book called "Pingu loves English" (longman), It´s a nice book, you can also add videos and movies to the class development.
