TTX import in Transit

When trying out the TTX import in Transit, we find that each segment
contains lots of extraneous tags. In addition to this, many segments
consist of a large number of sections of text (sometimes as many as 15
sections of text are grouped together as a single segment) and these
sections of text within a segment are interspersed with tags. This
means that it is messy for a translator and there is the risk that a
tag can be deleted or modified in some way during the translation
process.

Can anyone please advise whether this is always the case with TTX
imports or is there a way of avoiding this?

Thank you.

when importing, Transit gives you a list of words asking if abbreviation or not, make sure precise which one is abbreviation as Trnasit make the segmentation by that.
For the tags you can hide it and work with full tags hidden

Segmentation of TTX Sep 22, 2008

AFAIK (and importing TTX to Transit is my standard workflow) the segmentation of the imported Transit project is determned by the initial TTX. Can you check on segmentation of that source?

Not likely - the tags are protected in the Transit environment.

Thank you both very much for your replies. I will try to check the segmentation of the source.

Am I correct in my understanding that you do not usually encounter such problems with TTX files and that it is most likely due to the way in which this particular TTX file has been created?
