Hi,

What is the best way to re-use a translation in Transit which was previously translated with Trados?

I did a test with TMX which was not very successful. I imported a TMX file, which was exported from Trados, into Transit, saved it as a language pair and changed the status to "translated". Hi,

I did a test with TMX which was not very successful. I imported a TMX file, which was exported from Trados, into Transit, saved it as a language pair and changed the status to "translated". Then I used this language pair as reference and imported the original source files (FrameMaker MIF) into Transit. However only about 5 % of all segments were pretranslated. Almost no segments were partially pretranslated or had fuzzy matches with 70 % and above. Although the content of the FrameMaker files was in the TMX file.

What could I do to improve that? Should the TMX be preprocessed before it may be imported into Transit? Should I ask for TMX 1.1 instead of 1.4? Should I forget the TMX route and just align the
existing translations?

Best regards

Winfried
