All what is said is perfectly right!
as a translator, every client things you can do miracle, you can understand very perfectly every field. if he was an advertiser he wants you to translate his advetisement as just he wants it not as you like it, he want you to adopt his style, and if your style is not exactly what he expect he will consider you a failer!
he needs his jobs to be done ontime, no consider for any of your physical or sychological situation. you accept to do the work then you had been emplyed by him.
but we need to work we need to live even if we are looking for part time jobs, we seek it because we need it, but who cares?
as a freelancer translator, you wait and wait till you receive a job, and after doing it you are worried is it ok? is client satisfied or not? and when he will pay for it?
no guaranttee at all. but still we shall work

thansk for the article it was great

well, yes Nov 10, 2008

This is how I feel but still I would like to find a way out of it. I'm trying not to give up my specialization and balancing between translations not related with my fields of specialization I still try to read books that one day, I hope and believe, will help me to become a highly specialized translator. Good luck in your way.
