I just want to add alternative English versions for a couple of them:

"Se armó la gorda" - All hell broke loose

"La tercera es la vencida" - The third time is the charm

to discover the root of these popular sayings. I was surprised to find that the "3 strikes" rule existed so long ago in Spain. The version I'm familiar with is "a la tercera va la vencida".
