Another good idea to avoid paper and ink waste to our planet is to put the message "Before printing this e-mail, please make sure it is necessary." or similar, in our working languages, so everyone is reminded about the importance of clicking Print. Thanks, Niraja, for your article, I also think it is always necessary to keep on reminding these things. | | | Cynthia Plac (X) Local time: 02:30 Czech to English + ... I would only like to add one other important possibility for others to consider: recycling of their computers. By this I am not referring to the actual revamping of computers, including upgrades, but, in fact, the dissassembly of such computer hardware for the further processing of their individual components. Not naming any particular companies that I have worked for (just Google "computer recycling"), I've learned much about responsible and innovative uses of computer components. In particular, their precious metal- containing processors are unbelievably valuable. Such components are made of certain metals that can be reclaimed, purified, and used within the precious metals industry. The manufacturing of dental products (such as platinum and gold pellets used in fillings), pure ingots, sputtering targets, wires, jewelry, etc. is a result of this type of recycling. Some of these products are the basis of various machinery used in factories that make our world go round! Considering the increasing problem of landfilling and hazardous waste, it is truly reassuring that some companies take on the responsibility to reprocess the computer components that we otherwise would never have considered valuable. Thank you for the article!
