Dear All,

I need an advice from you guys, who live in South America.

I have heard that climate in South America is such that it is hot in months such as December, January, February (what we in the North part of the Globe call "winter") and cold in the months of June, July, August (what we call "summer").

So, the question is - how do you call these seasons?

Do you call the season which is December, January, February winter or summer?

In the southern hemisphere we call summer to the period that goes from December 21 to March 20. Winter starts on June 21 and ends on September 20.

Regards,
Rodolfo

Hi, Alexander Apr 22, 2009

Of course I agree with Rodolfo.

I would only like to add that South America deserves a visit: you will find innumerable spots of geographic, historic and cultural interest and I'm sure you'd have a good time. Please include us in your "To Do" list! There's nothing like personal experience for comments such as "I love the beaches in Uruguay in January/February...".

That's hilarious!

I agree with Lucia, you should really visit us sometime.

All the best from South America, where we're enjoying a lovely autumn/fall.
