Hi there,

I am a postgrad translation student and as part of my dissertation I would like to translate some west African Folktales from English into French. The course dissertation would be more readily planned if there was an appropriate refernce text or papers that cover this particular project.
Any help, suggestion, advice,... would be more than appriciated!

Thanks

Real African Tale Source Mar 30, 2009

You should try works collected by the late ethnographer Amadou Hampâté Bâ (check French Wikipedia). He has extensively collected tales (in French) from the French Soudan (Mali and Niger River environs) from a genuine African point of view.
