Hi
I am conducting a study about using a social constructivist approach in teaching translation strategies for Faculty of Educations' Majors. But, I need any written literature about translation strategies. If anyone here can offer me any data about such topic, I will be very thankful for him.

I entered "translation strategies" in Google. Here are the first five resources I found. There are plenty more.

Although I don't clearly understand what you mean by the term "translation strategies" try and look at the following sources:

Nord, Christiane, 1997. Translating as a Purposeful Activity. Manchester: St Jerome.

Fawcett, Peter, 1997. Translation and Language. Manchester: St Jerome.

Translation strategies for verses Dec 19, 2008

I always admire the translated version of verses e.g. from those in English to French.
I have a silly question: How to translate verses or poems?
I am not good at wring verses. I imagine how verses can be translated when more constraints are applied to express the whole meanings in another language.
Will anyone have specific translation strategies/techniques for such artistic languages?

Hello,

It is only when you are well-versed in your native language that you can translate poetry. Only a poet can translate poetry.

Not only conveying the original meaning ( thoughts and emotions), but also the specific structure ( meter, rhyme, tone etc). Generally, translating poetry is a very delicate craft.
