Hi all,

I'm quite new to software translating and could use all your tips and guidelines.

What is the best tool for translating software packages, exe files, ddl files, etc.?

Is there any toturial I could use?

Thank you

Catalyst Nov 29, 2004

Catalyst is good, although some freeware hacking tools would do, too. (That's a more complicated way.)
But I never needed any of them, because the clients always sent me their extracted strings.

is catalyst capable of directly translating Flash animations? It seems to me that extracting the strings is the most logical solution but it would be interesting to know the full capabilities of Catalyst and other tools and comparison between their costs and capabilities.

if I were a programmer Dec 1, 2004

If I were the programmer I wouldn't want some translator messing around with my code.

The software I translated so far has always been presented as strings in a spreadsheet, or in SDLX Lite.

Besides the risk of code being messed up there is also the fact that it would become rather expensive to hire someone with programming knowledge, opposed to just delivering the needed strings to a translator that knows the right terms.
