How do I compare two .doc documents statistically for differences?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know a program that compares two different documents, i.e., two guideline books with (hopefully) text equal to both in some parts. I need to know how much text is equal (so that I only have to translate it once)- before beginning with the translation.

Thanks in advance.

I used MS Word for comparing text documents. Select \"Tools\" then \"Track changes\" then \"Compare documents.\"

Standard option in MS Word Jul 17, 2002

Just convert documents you need to compare into Word-compatible format (if needed), open both documents and use Tools\\Track changes\\Compare documents.

MS Word compatible formats: .doc, .rtf, .txt, .html
