Scope of french vs scope of japanese!

I am a post-graduate indian employed full time. i wish to learn a foreign language in order to be a freelance translator. Please suggest me the scope of both the Japanese as well as French language if either of them is paired with English for the translation or interpretation point of view. I mean to ask which attracts the most translation work in the international market and also which one is easier to learn by an Asian non-native english speaker?

I think the better question is "what is more useful in your market?" If you are a non-native English speaker, then most likely you would be translating only into Hindi (assuming that's your native/1st/strongest language). Is there a market for either Japanese>Hindi or French>Hindi translation? I don't know the answer to that.
