I am curious about the gadgets used in this business, specifically the wireless devices.

How do you manage to stay connected (or quickly react to important incoming emails) even when you are outside your office? Do you use one of those GSMs with POP3 and GPRS capabilities? I heard of some interesting devices combining POP3, GPRS and MS Office & PDF documents viewer like Treo, SonyEricsson P800, Nokia Communicators...

Hi Vladimir,

Responding to messages quickly is essential for me, so I try to be \"connected\" outside the office.

If I take the laptop anyway, I use a Nokia D211 PCMCIA card that is a GSM/GPRS phone combined with a WLAN card. Simple to install (Win2k Pro) and pretty good performance.

Whenever I\'m just \"on the run\" I use a Compaq iPAQ 3970 with a GSM/GPRS expansion pack. Same functionality for e-mails - the only thing I wouldn\'t want to do is \"work\" on the little one...

Generally, as far as GPRS is involved (or any packet-switched service), don\'t underestimate the data volumes that can be transferred... I regularly clock up 20MB+ per month.

Best regards, Ralf
