Where I can download the general Microsoft glossary ?

It has to be in the form of a tab-delimited text file.
I only found it as a CSV file (useless to me).

Source language: English , Target language: Spanish.

is already tab delimited May 22, 2008

Just open it in notepad and you will find that it appears as tab delimited text.
You might however want to open it in Excel (or another spreadsheet program) first and delete all the columns you don't need.

Good luck

You probably refer to this:
http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/tools/MILSGlossary.mspx

Until about 5 years ago, Microsoft had the full UI glossaries of all their products on an FTP site. That was tremendously useful. But they then decided to make one single glossary with translations of terms, not of UI strings. You can download the Spanish one from the above page.

csv Microsoft glossaries May 22, 2008

Hi,

You can convert csv files into tab txt using XBench which you can download from http://www.apsic.com/en/products_xbench.html.

1. Install the software and run XBench (Start > Programs > ApSIC Tools).
2. Go to Project > Properties.
3. Click Add and select Microsoft glossaries. Add files. Select Next and OK until you end the dialogue.
4. Click Ok to end the adding process.

You can export all files in the XBench project. When everything has been loaded, go to Tools > Export items and select all files in glossary and tab txt file or tmx (in case of tmx you must define language codes). Introduce path and filename of the tab txt file and click OK.

At the bottom of the window, a bar progress will appear until it informs that the export has been successful. This software can be used to load a lot kind of files to search and process a QA.

You can find more information about its functions in the Help section, which is very complete.

Regards,

Oscar
