And Wordfast - not free but affordable Jul 2

It’s not that we don’t have plenty of options. We have. I have been working with Wordfast for years. It’s not free but it’s affordable. I paid a one-off fee of 250,00 Euros. It’s a great product that does not give me headaches. But the website is interesting anyway, thanks for that.

Thanks for the read Jul 2

- but I don't think they have done their homework, as pointed out there are plenty of free or cheap CATs out there.

I personally use Metatexis and I am very happy with it. Recommended!

And then, gmail-like CAT tools? What is that even supposed to mean? Freeware? Why doesn't he write omegat-like???

The autors seems to be totally clueless about computers and CAT tools, really.

That's why I posted it. Just an interesting read. I wonder where their research comes from?

"We’re always struck by the low incidence of CAT tool purchase and usage among freelancers...."

I know about the other tools, as of course do many, but it is still interesting to see what they are predicting and to bear in mind how much people moan about the prices (and problems) of expensive tools...

Let's see what the future holds.

Cheers
Chris
