Looking for help on Interpretation theory Thread poster: Frasco

Dear friends,
I need help. I have got an important exam in which I have to give an in-depth talk on Translation of texts and Interpretation of discourses. I have got a lot of bibliography on the first part of the subject but very little regarding the second one.
Could you please recommend me any web sites giving information on Interpretation theory? I would be very, very grateful if you could help.

Could you be a little more specific? On Wednesday I can talk to our interpretation class instructor and ask her if there are any books or articles about the subject in the departments library. But I need you to give me a little more input on the subject as interpretation of discourses seems too general.

Hermeneutics or interpretation is concerned with the generation, transmission, and acceptance of meaning within the lifeworld and was the original method of the human sciences stemming from F. Schleiermacher and W. Dilthey. Hermeneutic philosophy refers mostly to M. Heidegger's. These papers address natural science from the perspective of Heidegger's analysis of meaning and interpretation. It's purpose is to incorporate into the philosophy of science those aspects of historicality, culture, and tradition that are absent from the traditional analysis of theory and explanation, to re-orient the current discussion about scientific realism around the hermeneutics of meaning and truth in science, and to establish some relationship between the current philosophy of natural science and hermeneutical philosophy. This is precisely the point. The talk has to be comprehensive. I mean, I should cover a bit of everything: the types of interpretation that there exist, the technological devices used, How an interpreter becomes an interpreter, and perhaps the most important, how can you teach an interpreter to become an interpreter, what the techniques used at the Faculties of Interpretation are.
