In the light of the many recent discussions, I think the recent posting on Global Watchtower is more than pertinent. Many of us have expressed our concerns about sharing and using global databases, mostly due to legal and ethical reasons. Based on a survey by Common Sense Advisory, Inc., 85% of LSPs seem to be “very nervous” or “somewhat nervous” about this new technology; but their main concerns seem to be different than ours.

Still, the survey reveals that "more than three quarters" of LSPs are "“very likely” or “somewhat likely” to use open-source tools".
