Hello everybody,

I am a student from Germany with Serbian background. For a long time I've been looking for good Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian - German dictionaries, but I am not very satisfied with the ones I have:

1. "Neues Standardwörterbuch/Standardni Recnik deutsch-serbisch/serbisch-deutsch" by Branislav Grujic, Ilijana Srdjevic
This one has over 100,000 words and there are also some mistakes in the translation. I also often don't find the words I want to look up... See more

I am a student from Germany with Serbian background. For a long time I've been looking for good Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian - German dictionaries, but I am not very satisfied with the ones I have:

1. "Neues Standardwörterbuch/Standardni Recnik deutsch-serbisch/serbisch-deutsch" by Branislav Grujic, Ilijana Srdjevic
This one has over 100,000 words and there are also some mistakes in the translation. I also often don't find the words I want to look up.

2. Langenscheidt: Universal Wörterbuch Serbisch
This has only about 30,000 words. So it's not very helpful either.

3. Sometimes I use www.krstarica.com but I also don't find all words I look up


What I`m really looking for is a good dictionary with no mistakes, and since I am studying legal and technical translation English-German/German-English, I also want to know which dictionaries you use for legal and technical translation for the language pairs Serbian-English/German or English/German-Serbian.

Can somebody recommend me reference material on Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian law?

Hello Aleksandra,

there is a very good law dictionary, but it is not an English/Serbian dictionary but an English/Croatian dictionary. The author is Milica Gačić Englesko hrvatski rječnik prava (English-Croatian Dictionary of Law). A brilliant and a very helpful dictionary comprising 1510 pages. I warmly recommend it.

Hallo Lidija,

Hvala ti za odgovor.

Trazila sam tu knjigu preko interneta i nasla sam nekoliko dobre internet knjizare, koje imaju tu knjigu. Preko tih knjizara sam i nasla jednog srpsko-engleski recnik pravnih termina i srpsko-engleski recnik tehnike.
