Over 80 Bad-Paying Translation Agencies, reported by freelance
translators, are on the black list. Please find details here (FREE OF
CHARGE):

www.TranslationDirectory.com/non-payers.htm

If you have worked with such companies and want to warn other
translators, please send us the following information: name of the
agency and a detailed outline of your cooperation and the broken
agreement. Please note that we will add the agency to the list only in
the case you have not broken the agreement from your side (have
provided a high-quality and in time job etc).

With kind regards,

Serhiy

This is what they say now Sep 19, 2003

I clicked the link and saw the following announcement:
Dear Linguists,

We have received letters from The European Union of Associations of Translation Companies (EUATC) "suggesting" that we remove the list of untrustworthy agencies from here to avoid future problems. Although they failed to mention the law which we are supposedly breaking, still, we are afraid we have to stop publishing the list.

Nevertheless, we continue collecting the untrustworthy agencies and the list will be available ONLY by e-mail ONLY to our subscribers (subscription is absolutely free of charge). The list will not be published anywhere, also it will not include any words/phrases implying the list includes untrustworthy/unreliable agencies - it will simply be a list of translation companies delivered directly to your mailbox and updated from time to time.

Subscribe to the free TranslationDirectory.com newsletter to receive news and updates from us. Also, if you know of any non-payers, please share the information.

Thank you for your support,

Sincerely,

TranslationDirectory.com

Dear Narasimhan,

We had to remove the list from the site a couple of months ago to avoid being closed. We now distribute the list only to interested subscribers free of charge. We have over 1000 subscribers. If you wish to get the list, just send an e-mail to onoshko@mail.uar.net with the word "subscribe".
