I was in need of a Hungarian parser, an electronic facility that analyzes a word, showing its base form (for lookup in dictionary) and provides other clues such as voice, number, case.

There is a translation software called MoBiMouse (eng-hun and ger-hun), which shows the root and the the translation of the wordsfound on the screen. It is a simple thing, but works. it may be useful for you.

Thanks very much!
It parses by way of tree structures, but does not analyze words, which can be quite complex grammatically speaking. So much information is imparted through grammar alone, so I need to go deeper.

What you're looking for is called a stemmer/ morphological analyser, and the best place to look is probably the hun* toolchain here.
