Here is a useful book I found recently:

Edit Yourself: A Manual for Everyone Who Works with Words

by Bruce Ross-Larson

New York and London: W.W. Norton & Co., 1996

ISBN 0-393-31326-3

A guide to improving your written English style with general descriptions of areas often requiring improvement and an alphabetical index of specific problematic phrases. I find that this is one of the only style guides with enough depth to be useful for translators who already have a strong grasp of the subject and just want to fine-tune their writing skills.
