Hallo dear fellow translators,
I am studying technical translation and am now preparing for the final exam in electrical engineering. Since part of it is in English I would appreciate it if you could help me with ressources for this purpose. I think, things like scripts of English universities or other material of introduction courses into electrical engineering would be very helpful. In particular I am looking for material about electronic components, converters from analog to digital and vice versa, amplifier circuits, integrated circuits, and related material.

Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks very much, but it isn't really what I am looking for Jan 14, 2004

I am looking for scripts/studying material to prepare for my exam in electrical engineering. I have already found some. But I still need material about the subjects mentioned in my first post. I would really appreciate any help. But I do not need glossaries for this purpose (though of course they might come in handy for other purposes, and I do thank you very much for them).
I have only two and a half months left till the exam and still lots to study.

Anja

Thanks very much for all your help Jan 19, 2004

Dear Monique,
The electronics course was in French. So it won't really help me with this exam, but then I will have to take my French exam later in the year as well. So thanks very much for that link. It also brought me on the right track. Using the search word "electronics course" brought up quite a lot of interesting material.

Dear S. R. Bandi,
thanks very much for your help.

Kind regards

Anja

Introduction course in electrical engineering Jan 19, 2004

Hi,
For a general introduction I found this:

http://www3.oup-usa.org/isbn/0195136047.html
Introduction to Electrical Engineering
Book and CD-ROM
MULUKUTLA S. SARMA, Northeastern University, Boston

On the site you will find a table of contents and a sample chapter so you can decide if it is something for you.
there are links to other books as well.

My background is marine engineering, (on yachts) but this book seems to be a very good general introduction with all the topics you mentioned.

Good luck,
Anjo
