Some glossaries Jan 29, 2004

I am not quite sure what you are looking for - if it is general conditions - there are many to be found on the web.

Such as the general terms and conditions (in English) as used by the Dutch translators organisation....

Resources... Jan 30, 2004

Ok, Luca, that's it!
I've just a few suggestions... First of all, two little books about Business English terms: the first one ("Modern English Commercial Correspondence") - edited by Hoepli - is quite good. It's an old version, but they keep on publishing it, so I suppose it's not that obsolete! It is written in English but it's thought for Italian students so you may find here and there a few references to Italian Business language. The other one is edited by Avvalardi ("Inglese - Corris

It is written in English but it's thought for Italian students so you may find here and there a few references to Italian Business language. The other one is edited by Avvalardi ("Inglese - Corrispondenza Commerciale e Privata") and is completely thought for Italian students so every commercial letter or term is translated in Italian... They are hand-books but if you're looking for general English Commercial terms they're quite helpful! As for other suggestions, well, in Rome there's a very good and efficient German bookstore (HERDER EDITRICE) which also sells books in English (such as grammars ecc...) thought for German students. You can find a lot of stuff there!!
Well, that's it... I didn't wanted to post it in this forum because these resources can be helpful only for En-It translators or at least for translators dealing with Italian as well...

Buying terms English-Spanish Jan 31, 2004

Hi, Paul!

I don't know exactly what you are interested in, but you may find the words you are looking for at http://hud.gov/buying/terms eng-sp.cfm.
This is a page located on the U.S. Department of Housing and Development's Homes and Communities, and there are a English/Spanish dictionary and a Spanish/English one containing only words related to business. I hope you find it interesting.

Best regards,

Teresa
