Quite a few askers themselves post their questions on a variety of portals in addition to asking them via Kudoz. So don't see why it should matter.

but suppose... its not by the same askers but some other person, but motive is only to help him.

Hope its not against site rule and regulation and ethical ?

I find it mildly irritating when I Google a phrase someone has asked about, and the first hit I get is the Proz question itself and the second is from something like wordreference.com.

I think it's basic courtesy to say "I have also posted this question at ..." so that people aren't scurrying around looking for answers that have already been found on other sites.

Personally, I wouldn't post a question on a site other than ProZ. If you can't get an answer here, you won't get one anywhere, and the quality of the answers on other sites is often very poor.

Just an idea - use the Reference function Dec 5, 2011

If you want to help the asker by posting his/her question at a different portal, I think you could do that, as context provided with the question should be non-confidential info.
You could include a link as a Reference comment to the original question on ProZ. That way the asker himself/herself can follow the responses at that other site, and you won't run the risk of getting accused of using somebody else's work to get KudoZ points for yourself.

One issue though, is that you may want to make sure the asker have not posted the question already on those other portals, because you don't want duplication.

Thanks Katalin,

I think this the best solution, better to provide link of original question as reference.

Thanks again.
