Has any of you heard about a proofreaders association, and if so where could it be contacted?

SFEP is a UK association Jun 24, 2004

SFEP - Society for Editors and Proofreaders is a UK association for anyone working in these areas, with slightly more emphasis on freelancers than employees of organisations. It offers meetings, courses and an endorsement process.

Libelula,
Was this your point?

Would it be proofreaders' or proofreader's?
Top quality translations or top-quality translations?

Sorry, Angel. I'm not very good much at profreading. Don't no of any such association.

Hello
Very late in the day, I just read this exchange and would like to say that the SfEP is the best organisation of this type I have ever encountered, with truly impressive and extremely helpful information, newsletter, training courses etc. Truly an instance of the very best professionals generously sharing their knowledge and experience. Even for those who are not in the UK and so cannot attend their training courses, it may be worth joining, or at least subscribing to their newsletter (for which you do not need to be a member).
best wishes
Jean
